I am currently out of sock yarn, so I used some leftover and made this lacy knitted purse. The pattern was in the Knit Picks catalog and is also on their website under free patterns. It called for sport weight, but I had this lovely purple fingering yarn that I wanted to use. I just kept repeating the pattern until it was the length I liked.
The bottom is fake grafted and the side seam is mattress stitch. It was good practice for me and I am really happy with how it turned out.
Tonight I’m going to wind the 22 pairs of bobbins that I need for my upcoming workshop.

I am planning to take a workshop in this form of bobbin lace on June 8, so I figured it was time for a short refresher. This keychain pattern was designed by Susan Wenzel (Lacy Susan) and is available on the IOLI website. Susan is teaching our workshop on June 8 and I am eager to refine a couple of techniques that I still have difficulty with.
I already had the pattern pricked, so it took just an evening to wind the bobbins (22 pairs) and work the motif. I left the finishing off to the following evening. It looks like a little tulip to me.
